DX-PEDITION TO GUYANA (8R) - 2007

Dear colleagues,
It is the start of a ham journey from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Georgetown, Guyana next November/2007, if nothing else is going to fail. Actually, Anderson (PY2TNT) and me (Alex - PY2WAS / PY1WAS) intend to spend 4 days transmitting 24 hours from Guyana (8R) from 2 to 80 meters, SSB and CW.
It has been too hard to get by all obstacles to get there. Bureaucracy in Brazil and Guyana has been the hardest one. We would appreciate to thank so much for the support of two great guys: Fred (PY2XB) in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Peter Denny (8R1WD) in Georgetown, Guyana. Peter is providing the license to use call sign 8R1PY close to NFMU (National Frequency Management Unit), which will be used in this dx-pedition from Nov, 1st 2007 to Nov, 4th 2007, if everything continues going on. Without Peter's support in Guyana, this dx-pedition could not have been possible. We intend to start to divulge this dx-pedition up to the end of September 2007, when we will have a clearest scenario about all details to make it come true.
